In a report by the National Center for Children in Poverty, researchers noted that individuals from low-income families with the inability to meet basic needs are at greater risk of experiencing depression, substance abuse, and domestic violence. When the holidays come around, the potential for an increase in depression among individuals greatly multiplies due to various reasons. The loss of loved ones, a change in their family situation, a negative change in their finances, may all be areas where people are struggling. Hope Network strives to provide a warm, welcoming environment for the families in our community to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal along with kind fellowship with other families and our volunteers.
